The Only Question That Truly Matters in Life

There is only one question that truly matters in our lives. Do you know Jesus? The answer to all other questions may impact your earthly life. But the answer to this one simple question, “Do you know Jesus?” will impact you for eternity.

If you do not know Jesus, I challenge you to find a Bible and to read the book of John.

A Man Named Bob

Today I am thankful that I have had the privilege of meeting and getting to know ‘Bob’. Bob is a 67 yr old widower, we has had back surgery, 2 knee replacements and lives in an Assisted Living Center in a small, remote community. Bob is one of the most outgoing, giving men. Although faced with many challenges in his life, Bob volunteers every other weekend at a local museum, voluntarily preaches to a small congregation at little country church every Sunday and Wednesday (although he is not an ordained minister), and actively participates in the activities at the Assisted Living Center.

This morning I attended a Bible Study that Bob was leading on the 4th chapter of Acts. As he read the chapter, discussing each verse, his passion, knowledge and love of Jesus rang in the emotion of his words as he shared with us one of his favorite chapter of scripture. Not one note. His entire lesson was from his heart as he shared Luke’s words and the personal insights that God had laid on his own heart.

Bob, a humble, simple man who loves Jesus with all his heart and soul; a man who has found joy and peace in the challenges of his life; a man whose greatest desire is to serve Jesus and share the gospel in both word and deed — made an impression on my life today as he challenged me to be BOLD in my faith, to speak out in BOLDNESS and to share with others — Thanks to Bob, I will never ‘simply read’ Acts 4 and especially verse 12, again. Each time I read and study this scripture in the future I will remember Jesus’ servant, Bob, the sacrifice of the disciples and the gift of salvation offered only through Jesus.

Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else (but Jesus), for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Thank you Lord for crossing my path with Bob’s. May you bless Bob and may he continue to serve you all his days and may I serve you, too, with the passion and love exemplified so clearly by this simple man named Bob.

“The Lord is my rock”

1 I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies

Psalm 18 : 1 – 3 – KJV

Wayward Sheep

“All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, everyone, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”

Isaiah 53:6

It has been many years since I have thought of this verse.

This morning I choose to use my favorite Bible in my devotional time. This particular Bible is a Women’s Study Bible that I came to know Jesus intimately during my loneliness and struggles during my ‘single again ‘ years. Jesus has been in my heart since age 9 but He didn’t fill my total being until I was 49. The Mighty Jesus used this particular Bible to bring this wayward child home.

Some mornings I do a more formal devotional. Other mornings I ask The Lord just to hive me a word, to just speak to me and I will open my Bible where I feel He is leading me. This morning it was Isaiah 53.

This is one of the very first verses I memorized as a young girl. I was in GA – Girls Auxiliary in our church and this was the verse that was the theme verse for all GA groups. It has been years since I thought of this verse.

As I read it this morning over and over God spoke —

– oh how many times have I strayed from The Lord since I was that 9 yr old girl! Too many to count! Yet every time He has found me and brought me home to His sweet pasture! Praise The Lord!!!!

– how fan anyone miss the prophecy in this verse? I did for many years. Isaiah the great prophet spoke of our LORD 700-740 years before His birth!!!!

-Jesus bore my sins so that I have the privilege and honor to be His sheep enjoying His beautiful, lush pasture.

Thank you LORD for ALWAYS finding me and for bringing me home each time I wander off and THANK YOU for choosing me and dying for me.

This wandering sheep is so blessed.
May you have an awesome day walking with Jesus.

A Priceless Robe

I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

ISAIAH 61 : 10

Garments of salvation and “a robe of righteous ”  ….  WOW I will no longer worry about my attire for I am richly dressed regardless of my earthly attire! Does it matter if the dress I wear today is this latest style or that the color is right for my skin tone? Only in the eyes of men – not in the eyes of My Lord, My Abba Father, My King! As the daughter of My King I wear the luxurious, priceless garments of salvation and righteous – the purple of royalty and the brilliant red of Christ’s blood…a sacrificial gift to just for me.

Today I will walk as the regal daughter of a king, with royal splendor and Grace.

Do you too wear the Garments of Salvation and bask in the luxurious robe of righteous?

I Believe

John 11:25-27
New King James Version (NKJV)

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

Thoughts :

I believe as this woman believed. Do you?

Christ Dwells Within

I know Christ dwells within me all the time, guiding me and inspiring me whenever I do or say anything. A light of which I caught no glimmer before comes to me at the very moment when it is needed.

Comment :

I am so thankful that Christ dwells within me all the time. Although I am not always aware of his presence because I am focused on worldly concerns, he remains there waiting to guide me, to give me answers – always the right answers -, to give me hope when all seems bleak and dark, to give me comfort when I am hurting and so much more. His timing in providing these things is always perfect.

As I start this day I am so thankful that I will not face it alone. Christ will be with me – even as he is this moment – every second of this day.

Thank you Jesus.

And the coolest part is that he is with each of you who know him as Lord – joining us as brothers and sisters in Christ – dwelling with each one of us individually and as his church!

May he meet your every need today, providing you light at the very moment needed.

Have a blessed day with The Lord!
