A long but excellent read.

Testimony of former atheist Sarah Salviander. She is a research scientist in astronomy and astrophysics at the University of Texas.

“I was born in the U.S., but grew up in Canada. My parents were socialists and political activists who thought British Columbia would be a better place for us to live, since it had the only socialist government in North America at the time. My parents were also atheists, though they eschewed that label in favor of “agnostic.” They were kind, loving, and moral, but religion played no part in my life. Instead, my childhood revolved around education, particularly science. I remember how important it was to my parents that my brother and I did well in school.

I grew up in the 1970s and 1980s, a time when science fiction was enjoying a renaissance, thanks largely to the popularity of Star Wars. I remember how fascinated I was by…

Stop accepting yourself as you and others see you, and see yourself as God sees you.

Great blog post from Pastor Mike

Pastor Mike Says

Wouldn’t you like the freedom just to be accepted as you are, without having to put on airs and without pressure to be someone you aren’t?

God accepts you as you are.  The devil wants to steal self-confidence from you.  He tries to make you “feel” that you don’t “measure up” in one way or another.  Thank God that we are “measured” by His standards, and not the worlds!

The opinion you have of yourself affects all your relationships—with God and other people.  Many times people can’t keep good friendships because they don’t even like themselves—so why should anyone else!

You can keep striving to make things better in your life by your “good works”.  Many people depend on their “good works” to outweigh their “bad works”, and thereby make it into heaven when the time comes.

But God says our “works” will not earn us anything.  It is by…

Day 15 – Thankful

November is a month when many people – me included – tend to be more aware of our blessings. In this age of “cyber-communication and social networking” we choose to share cyber messages of something that we are thankful for each day.

This year as I have sought to post a single entry each day on Facebook, I have struggled. It’s not that I am not thankful or blessed — for I am. I am blessed beyond measure — love of family, good friends, health, emotional gifts, monetary and material gifts and daily needs met consistently. My list of specific items goes on and on. Yet at the end of the day I have wrestled with choosing just one area of gratitude.

Everything I have pales in the shadow of the love of a triune God. Everything begins and ends with God. Everything I have comes from Him. Without Him I would not exist. Without His Son, Jesus Christ, choosing to die for me on The Cross, I would not know the greatest love of all time and my life would be void of hope. Without the Holy Spirit who lives in me and walks with me, who guides me, comforts me each day, how would I face the daily struggles, life’s heartaches and the trials of this world?

So today – Day 15 of November, 2013 – I am thankful for all things, all circumstances and most of all that I know the love Almighty God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Alpha and Omega, the creator and giver of all things.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.   (Revelations 1:8 KJV)

Always give thanks for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  (Ephesians 5:20)

No Excuse

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

Romans 1:20 NLT

Of you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior, what is your excuse?

Many people who think they’re kingdom citizens will someday be shocked to discover they aren’t. In Matthew 7:21 Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” Some people think highly of the kingdom but never receive the King. They call Jesus “Lord” but don’t do His will. Lip service won’t do. You must receive the King and His kingdom (John 1:12).

You must also value the kingdom. In Matthew 13:44 Jesus says, “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure.” In verses 45-46 He compares it to a pearl that was so valuable, a merchant sold all he had to purchase it. That’s the value of the kingdom. It’s worth any sacrifice you have to make.

Finally, you must continually pursue the kingdom. In Matthew 6:33 Jesus says, “Seek…

Time

TIME – What do you think when you hear the word ‘time’?

“Oh, my gosh, so much to do and not enough time to get it all done in!”

“Where has the time gone? Just yesterday you were born and today you turned 13!”

Time, precious time, ticking away second by second. One tick at a time …

There are certainly times when the moments seem to be passing quickly — too quickly. And there are times when the seconds seem to pass so S..L..O..W..L..Y.  Yet time passes at the same spend, never-changing — only our perception changing depending on what is occurring in our day.

But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in Your hands.”
Psalms 31:14-15

This past week I have learned about the unexpected death of a friend’s 49 yr old nephew, the mother of a former classmate and a life-long neighbor who meant so much to our family. This afternoon I take a widow neighbor, who is alone, to the Oncologist who has already told her there is no cure for the melanoma she is battling.

My first grandchild turned 13 yesterday. Her parents celebrate 18 years of marriage today. My ‘brother’ celebrates his 63rd birthday today, a special friend celebrates the 29th anniversary of his 39th birthday tomorrow, and on Wednesday a dear aunt turns 78. Each marking a special passing of time in their lives.

Oh Lord, I don’t always understand your timing.
In fact most of the time I don’t understand
but I rest in Your promises.
Oh Lord, I don’t always use the fleeting moments
that you give me wisely
and so many times I just let them
fly by with no meaning,
wasted never to be regained.
You ARE in CONTROL at all times and
You HAVE a PURPOSE and a PLAN for me
and for the moments of my life – my times.

I look to you this day
to order the moments of the day you have given me.
Help me to use each and every moment wisely and
to use them to Your Glory,
to love you and to love others,
for it is then and then alone
that the moments of my day
have meaning and purpose.

Thank you for being my God and
for caring about the moments of my days.
Thank you for holding My Time —
each and every second – in Your Hand.
I rest in You
and look forward
to the moments of this day,
to the moments of all the tomorrows
that you may give me,
may each moment be filled with your presence,
until one day – in Your timing –
you come for me to spend Eternity with you.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Today, how will you spend your precious moments?

Serve Him in the Waiting

When your child’s religious liberty is demanded at the schoolhouse door…

Uneducated administrators who practice anti-religious rhetoric against students and teachers can be taught!

January 16, 2012
In recent years, public school administrators have fallen for the lies of anti-religious groups like the ACLU, Freedom From Religion Foundation and People for the American Way.

Using baseless fear tactics, these groups have intimidated superintendents and principals into ignorance and cowardice as it applies to religious rights in your child’s school.

For example, teachers and coaches are being fired and students are being punished for simply being who they are – Christians.

Last week in Phillipsburg, NJ, a substitute teacher was fired because he answered a student’s question about his faith. When the student asked for, and received, a Bible from the teacher, Walter Tutka was immediately dismissed.

In another absurdity, a constitutionally-protected student Bible Club in a Western New York public…

Serve Him in the Waiting

$542 Million in taxpayer funding to murder innocent babies in their FIRST sancutary, the mother’s womb in 2012.

$500 Million in taxpayer funding, illegally allocated by an illegal alien in the White House to illegally violate the Constitutional rights of American citizens, shamelessly exploiting and politicising the tragic deaths of six adults and 20 six-year-olds  in their “second sanctuary” to further their agenda on the completely false and fabricated premise (pretense) that even a single one of Obama’s illegal “23 measures” would have changed the outcome of the Sandy Hook Massacre even one iota.  (Joe and Barry’s laughable “pity faces” notwithstanding)

Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin!
Woe to them that put darkness for light, and light for darkness!

I was at Wal Mart today.  Trust me, they are still planning to restock the ammo shelves, which are all but bare at the moment.  This president is picking a fight.  He is baiting the freedom-loving patriots who know…
