Praying for You Today

Today I pray the words of Paul over each person who reads this post…

“…so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

EPHESIANS 3 : 17 – 19

If you already know Jesus Christ as you Lord and Savior, I pray that He will draw you closer this day.

If you do not know the love of Jesus and have not acknowledged Him as your Savior, than I pray that you will acknowledge that you are a sinner and that God sent His Son to die on the Cross in your place, in my place, to pay the price for all our sins – yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I pray that you repent and will accept the salvation and eternal life that He offers to all who acknowledge Him.

Oh thank you Abba Father. With YOU I am never alone and I can face all that life might bring my way. Oh Lord that ALL my children, grandchildren, extended family, friends…all who you have created would know the assurance of your love and grace.  My heart is heavy for those who do not know Jesus as Savior and Lord for they have no such hope or assurance. Oh Lord let others see your light through my words, my actions this day. Help me to share your message that others will know Jesus as their Lord. Amen

Comments: Oh Lord, how very true these words are today as well — ” Disturb us, Lord, when With the abundance of things we possess We have lost our thirst For the waters of life; Having fallen in love with life, We have ceased to dream of eternity And in our efforts to build a new earth, We have allowed our vision Of the new Heaven to dim” Could it be that the state of our nation, our economy, our morality, is God’s means of “disturbing us”?

Prayer – I Arise Today

I arise today through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity, through the belief in the threeness, through confession of the oneness of the Creator of Creation. I arise today through the strength of Christ’s birth with his baptism, through the strength of his crucifixion with his burial, through the strength of his resurrection with his ascension, through the strength of his descent for the judgment of Doom. I arise today through the strength of the love of Cherubim, in obedience of angels, in the service of archangels, in hope of resurrection to meet with reward, in prayers of patriarchs, in predictions of prophets, in preaching of apostles, in faith of confessors, in innocence of holy virgins, in deeds of righteous men. I arise today through the strength of heaven: light of sun, radiance of moon, splendour of fire, speed of lightning, swiftness of wind, depth of sea, stability of earth, firmness of rock. Dear Jesus,

Help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go, flood our souls with your Spirit and life. Penetrate and possess our whole being so utterly that our lives may only be a radiance of yours. Shine through us and be so in us that every soul we come in contact with may feel your presence in our soul. Let them look up and see no longer us but only Jesus. Stay with us and then we shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be light to others. The light, O Jesus, will be all from you. None of it will be ours. It will be your shining on others through us. Let us thus praise you in the way you love best by shining on those around us. Let us preach you without preaching not by words, but by our example by the catching force the sympathetic influence of what we do the evident fullness of the love our hearts bear to you. Amen.

A Prayer – Help me Follow the Right Road

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope that I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and will never leave me to face my perils alone. Amen.

Lord, you know my heart this morning and those that I love who are living in a ‘Hell on Earth ‘ rooted in unforgiveness and anger, expressed in rages of jealousy fueled by the continual flow of hatred and mental anguish. In it’s place, Father, I ask for your love to consume and cover all involved, granting forgiveness and love rooted in you grace, your mercy, and closing the door forever on past sins.

A Prayer of Commitment

Dear Lord, I believe Jesus is the son of God, and that He died for my sins and then rose from the dead. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart forever. Thank you Jesus for coming into my life and hearing my prayer. I ask you to forgive me for the wrong things I have done, I forgive those who have hurt me. I ask this in the name of my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.


Father, today I recommit my entire being to you and your ways.
