A Best Friend — Who is Yours?

“My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me.”

Henry Ford

Who is my best friend?

Who brings out the best in me?

Jesus Christ!

  • Jesus has transformed me and is transforming me each day.
  • Jesus has loved and loves me with an unconditional love and has given me His love and compassion for others.
  • Jesus is always there when I need someone
    • 24/7, rain, snow, sleet or shine
    • Anywhere, everywhere, any time
  • Jesus always listens and hears my heart behind my words or tears.
  • Jesus always gives me love, grace, mercy, strength, comfort, hope and peace – whatever I need at the time.
  • And most of all Jesus never judges me instead Jesus died for me on The Cross; He covered my sins with His Blood and I appear righteous before Holy God The Father.
  • Jesus will raise me from the grave one day just as He arose from the tomb 1983 years ago.
  • Jesus has promised me an eternity in Heaven!

I sing the words of this hymn this morning as I think of my best friend, Jesus.

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

What a friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer!

Oh, what peace we often forfeit,

O, what needless paid we bear,

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged,

Take it to the Lord in prayer:

Can we find a friend so faithful

Who will all our sorrow share?

Jesus knows our every weakness,

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden,

Cumbered with a load of care?

Precious Saviour, still our refuge;

Take it to the Lord in prayer:

Do they friends despise, forsake thee?

Take it to the Lord in prayer;

In His arms He’ll take and shield thee;

Thou wilt find a solace there.
