The Rest of Victory

There is nothing

No circumstance,

No trouble

No testing —

That can ever touch me until, first of all,

It has gone past God

And past Christ,

Right through to me

If it has come that far,

It has come with great purpose,

Which I may not understand

at the moment —

But as I refuse to become panicky

As I lift my eyes up to Him

And accept it as come from His throne

For some great purpose of blessing

to my heart,

No sorrow will disturb me,

No circumstance will cause me to fret

For I shall rest in the JOY

Of what my Lord is,

  1. Thank you Marilyn, I just wanted it clarified. Younger Christians and others may not have understood that and I wanted to make sure they recieved that clarification. Thank you again! God Bless, Laura

  2. Beautifully written! The only thing I would like to respond to is , “And accept it as come from His throne”

Please know that God allows circumstances, trials and trouble in our lives, but He is not the author of it. The Word says that we will experience tribulation in this world. He warns us of it and has given us the tools to overcome it. Tribulation comes because we 1. Live in a fallen world 2. satan brings it against us to steal our faith 3. Our own choices brings about consequences that we must face.

12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

    James 1:2-4
Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

    In His Name always,

    • Hi Laura,

Thank you for stopping by my blog and also for your comments. You are so right. I agree completely. God does not cause bad things to happen but he does allow them to. Just as he allowed bad things to happen in Job’s life.

I believe that all things pass by His throne before the come to pass in our lives. I base this on the book of Job —

6Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

7And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

8And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

9Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

10Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

11But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

12And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

As the piece says, everything comes with great purpose.

      Again, thanks for commenting.

      God bless,
